I realize I have been terrible, terrible, terrible about posting on my blog! Β I have done tons of updating on Facebook, but realize some of you might not be able to see that! Β So I thought I would do a post to update everyone on how my training was going for the Cleveland 1/2 Marathon.
I recently decided to put together mini picture collages, with a brief blurb about the day and my training progress. Β I decided to start this 30 days out from the Cleveland 1/2, this way I could document my training 30 days- until the actual event. Β Here is where I currently am at….
So 20 days till the big race!
Today’s a big day, mom had her yearly checkup and is now 4 years cancer FREE!! Best news!!!
Wasn’t feeling my workout today but pushed dang hard! A great workout and pace.
Happy Monday all, many reasons to be thankful today!!!!!
It’s a rainy Sunday! Up early this morning to complete our usually grocery shopping. Tons of fresh produce to clean and cut-up, I am very lucky as Dana took this task on today! Thanks Dana!!!
6 indoor miles today. Was a hard 6 as my body is a little tired from yesterday’s 13.4 and yard work, have to push on!!
Going to enjoy the rest of this rainy day. 21 days till the Cleveland 1/2, not going to lie I am pretty excited. Not sure if I am excited for the race or to see my family π
TGIF!! Today is an exciting day!!! Two years ago I stepped on the scale for the first time willingly and joined weight watchers.
I have lost 181 pounds in these 2 years and have gained so much more!! I discovered a new hobby, met new friends, learned how to eat right all while having the love and support of my best friend, my husband Dana.
I really am speechless…

Another cold morning run! Running tights and my running jacket were a must. Managed a little over 7 miles π
Emma and Reese gave me sweet kisses when I returned home this morning. I was also tempted my multiple sweets at work today, but I didn’t give in!! Staying on track and focused π
Have a great day everyone, big day tomorrow stay tuned π
Out the door by 5:26am today. It was a rainy gloomy day so off to the recreation center. Interval training today, it sure kicked my butt!
Put in a solid 6.66 miles today, devilish π loving sprinkles (my GPS watch) helped me know how hard I was pushing myself with my heart rate monitor.
Best part of my morning, coming home after a great workout to my loved ones. Dana is my #1 supporter and I always look forward to seeing him as I walk in the door. Emma was extra cute this morning too π
Happy Wednesday everyone π
Today is my day off from running, my legs sure thanked me and its always nice to get a bit more sleep.
Today started off with being stuck in traffic for two hours due to a terrible accident. I witnessed the emergency helicopter landing on the hwy!
My day wrapped up with an AMAZING Yoga session. This sure helps my muscles!! My friend Stephanie was nice and joined me π
My night concluded with coming home to dinner made! Thank you Dana! Dinner was a weekly favorite taco salads! These consist of taco meat (made with extra lean turkey), cheese, a few crushed up baked Doritos, black olives, and salsa for dressing!! Yummmm
A wonderful end to the crazy start of my day!
Pushed hard today. Mondays are one of my hardest days, this Monday was no exception. My legs were tired from yesterday’s long run and 5am is flipping early (ok more like 5:45, I pressed snooze).
I woke up to Reese’s cute face and was able to watch the sunrise during my run. I can’t believe it’s almost the end of April and I still needed my winter running jacket!!! I was thankful for its “mitten” feature this morning as it kept my hands warm.
Due to sore legs I did go back and forth with my Garmin Virtual Partner but I won!!! Nice try sprinkles (yes I named my watch hehe).
Looking forward to tomorrow’s off day and Yoga!
Big day today! Ran 12.5 miles and averaged a pace of 8:40, which I think is pretty good considering my route consisted of 4 hills, two the size of the Empire State Building!
Tried a new gel today and I loved it!! Provided me the extra energy I needed come mile 10, it also agreed with my stomach (thank God!).
Brought my handheld out with me for water, it took some getting use to but was nice to have.
When coming in today Dana asked what was wrong with my face, if you look closely at my close up you can see the sweat crystallized on my face. I guess that’s a sign of a good workout!
Only 3 more long runs till the big day! Thanks friends for your continued support π
Wanted to complete my long run today, but I will wait till tomorrow when it’s sunny and in the 50’s! Today was cold and snowy, where is spring?!!!!
Worked on pace interval training today, I pushed hard (as you can tell from my sweaty tank). Love, love LOVED the new headband. Kept the hair out of my face and really absorbed the sweat, I highly recommend this one.
I always look forward to my breakfast after my workout!! Today was my usual coffee, water with mio, Cheerios with a banana/skim milk, and a few strawberries.
Day 29 was great, feeling accomplished today, I rocked those 8 miles on the dreadmill π
Only 30 Days till the Cleveland 1/2 Marathon. I have decided to track my training with pictures for the next 30 days!
Up by 5:30am even on my day off!! Completed sprints at the Rec Center with Jess this morning, we pushed hard. Tried to get a picture of Jess but it was too early in the am for a picture, so please refer to her fast bright shoes π
Workout complete by 7:10 am, still loving my Garmin watch. It has sure helped with my training.
Made a trip to Lululemon today to start planning my 1/2 running attire, purchased this pink headband (thought it was a good celebration headband as we hit this one month point).
30 days, can’t wait!!!
